Care Instructions – Kevlar® Motorcycle Jeans

To maintain the strength, stretch, and protection of your Kevlar® jeans, follow these care steps carefully:

    Remove Armour:
Before washing, take out all hip and knee armour.

    Turn Inside Out:
Turn your jeans inside out to protect the outer fabric and the Kevlar® fibres during washing.

    Machine Wash Cold:
Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water using a mild, bleach-free detergent.
Avoid harsh chemicals and never use chlorine bleach — it damages Kevlar® fibres.

    Drying:

Preferred: Line dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight.

Alternative: Tumble dry on a warm, gentle setting only.
Excessive heat or direct UV exposure can weaken Kevlar® yarns over time.

    Do Not:

    Do not use fabric softeners

    Do not dry clean

Do not iron or expose to high heat sources

    Reinstall Armour:
Once the jeans are completely dry, reinstall all armour before wearing.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Why is Camino different?

Our main distinction lies in the materials we choose and the way we design our products. Different fibers and fabrics create vastly different results and comfort levels. We collaborate closely with fabric mills and manufacturers, rigorously testing each product both in the lab and out on the streets before it reaches you. We strive to master the art of balancing the perfect amount of comfort and protection, so you barely notice you’re even wearing protective gear.

    How is camino gear tested?

Camino undergoes rigorous testing to ensure the highest safety standards.

Some of our garments have gone through the full EN 17092 CE AAA garment certification process whilst others have gone through the more stringent Motocap ratings process, based on the far higher standards of EN 13595. While ratings are not mandatory in Australia, we still adhere strictly to proven construction and design methods to guarantee high safety standards in every garment.

The key variables we focus on in testing are abrasion, impact, and burst strength:

    Abrasion:
This depends heavily on the fabrics used. Every single fabric in our products has been tested using either the Darmstadt or Cambridge abrasion machines and has passed an absolute minimum of AA rating under EN 17092 standards.

    Burst Strength:
We only use specific stitching methods known for their high performance. Thanks to these techniques, we’ve achieved a perfect 10/10 burst strength score in Motocap testing.

    Impact protection:
We resell impact protectors that have all been rigorously tested and are certified CE Level 1 or Level 2, ensuring reliable protection.

Through these rigorous tests and careful design choices, we ensure that Camino gear delivers reliable protection without compromise.

Whats the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 armour?

When it comes to motorcycle armour, CE Level 2 offers a clear advantage over Level 1 in absorbing and dispersing crash impact energy.

    Transmitted Force – The Numbers

    • Allows up to 35 kN of force to pass through to the body.
    • Limits force to 20 kN or less — premium models can drop that to around 9 kN.

That’s up to 50% more impact energy absorbed compared to Level 1, meaning far less force reaches you in a crash.

On the Road – What This Means

In a typical spill — hitting tarmac or colliding with an obstacle — Level 2 can be the difference between severe bruising or fractures (common with Level 1) and walking away with only minor bruises. Riders often say it “turns a bone-breaking hit into one you can shrug off,” especially in high-impact zones like knees, elbows, and shoulders.

It’s not a shield against extreme, high-speed collisions, but in everyday accidents, the injury reduction is significant.

    Why Level 2 Matters Most

For higher-energy impacts, Level 2 can prevent fractures and serious trauma that Level 1 might not. That’s why it’s the go-to for racing, spirited riding, or daily commutes with higher speed exposure. The better the absorption, the greater your chances of walking away.

    Key Points to Remember

    - Level 2 absorbs up to twice as much energy as Level 1.

    - Less force transferred to your body means lower risk of serious injury.

    - If you want maximum safety in higher-risk riding, choose Level 2.

    - Level 1 is adequate for low-risk, casual riding — but Level 2 is the safer bet for speed, traffic, and unpredictable roads.

What does “regular fit” really mean?

Our regular fit is thoughtfully designed to provide the ideal balance between comfort and safety. Motorcycle jeans that are too loose can cause armour to shift, compromising protection, while overly tight jeans can restrict movement. Our fit ensures the armour stays securely in place without feeling restrictive. The jeans are ergonomically tested to match natural riding positions, delivering optimal safety performance and all-day comfort whether you’re on or off the bike.

For specific details, refer to th size guide of each product.

    Are Camino jeans waterproof?

    No, here is why..

Many “waterproof” jeans rely on a surface coating to repel water. While it keeps rain out, it also traps heat and moisture, making the jeans hot, clammy, and uncomfortable — especially on long rides. We believe everyday comfort matters more than compromising breathability for the rare occasions you get caught in the wet.

I’m tall, so finding riding jeans is hard. These Braxtons come in 3 lengths, are comfortable, feel great , look good, well made and have protection where it counts.
Australian business too. Top quality customer service too. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Spread the word and support a business with soul.

Thanks for the great review John, we're stoked you're loving the jeans
