Start ShoppingI had no intention of writing a review of the Calix jeans I've had for over a year, as I agree with most of the existing reviews: they were delivered promptly after ordering online; they fit just the same as regular jeans; and they are comfortable (comfort was checked out on a four week car trip - with the hip armour fitted! - even before I first wore them on the Speed Triple). Strangely (or not) no reviewer commented on the protection the jeans provide if they happen to be sliding down the road. Come on guys, how about taking one for the team?
Well it appears that has 'fallen' to me. The attached photo is the result of tipping into a right hand corner covered in the loose stuff that the road repairers didn't bother to sweep up. Speed as I hit the deck right knee first was in the order of 30-50kmh and I slid for 15 metres or so (it wasn't measured - I'm just guessing from the photo a mate took of the scene). While a wear mark can be seen the jeans were not worn through - so no gravel to pick out of my knee - and if I'd had knee armour I might have saved my knee from the bruising and the small wound (there might be a bit of dry blood soaked through as part of the stain on the jeans).
So, there you are - a crash test of the Calix jeans. All I have to do now is ask Camino how many times I can slide on the same on the same before they finally wear through... I'll leave that research for someone else, if I may (two weeks after the get off and the knee is still a bit swollen).
I bought these jeans on a whim, but when they arrived (and so very quickly!) I pulled them on and went for a ride.
The armour is noticeable, particularly the hip armour, when walking around but once on the bike they morph into the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn.
Five stars from me.
Ordered a pair of single layer jeans which arrived a couple of days later. Size is a true fit with a bit of stretch and very comfortable wearing. Will definitely be going back for more.
I was sceptical about buying riding jeans online, but I had no need to worry. These Camino jeans are fantastic! The sizing guide was spot on, they fit perfectly. Incredibly comfortable whether in the bike or walking around, they fit and feel just like regular jeans.
The choice of leg length and the ability to adjust the knee armour is way more beneficial then you may think.
Having tried these, I wouldn’t consider any other brand in the future.

The summer jacket I've been seeking. Smart enough for the office too.Hard recommend.

Fits great, comfortable to ride in, and perfect for the hot Australian summer. It feels good, made of lightweight yet heavy-duty material. The quality finish is excellent. Highly recommend! 👌
Just got mine last week. Super happy, better than dual layer jeans that don't protect all your legs. More comfortable, and no adjusting my "boys", when riding because more flexible all round. So happy I just purchased another pair. Are my casual all day jeans now, goodbye Levi's.
Received a pair of Chinos and jeans and absolutely love them. Feel like a regular pair of pants and so much more comfortable than my previous Kevlar pair. The chinos are perfect for office wear. Highly recommend.
"What are you doing wearing cargos on an Italian sports bike?' They said. "Where's your leathers?" Well when your new red-headed Italian girlfriend only has a small clutch with barely enough room for a mascara of course you need cargoes and with secure pockets for all those other necessities. After 12 years in Covec lined bottoms I'm really enjoying the lightness of the Armalith. Should have ordered the next leg length due to knee flexion on the Ducati.
